New Patients
We work closely with your dentist
Periodontal care works best as a partnership with your general dentist, who knows your history and stays involved in your care. That’s why we see patients by referral, and why we ask you to keep an active relationship with a dental home.
Just let your dentist know you’d like to see us — mention that you found us online, and their office can send a referral to [email protected] or by calling (616) 531-1554.
We’ll reach out to get you scheduled as soon as your referral arrives. Feel free to call us in the meantime — we’re happy to help.
Your first visit
Thorough care is our foremost consideration — not only treating dental disease, but preventing it in the future. Here’s how a first appointment usually goes.
-
Medical and dental history
We review your health history, dental history, and medications, so we know more about your personal situation.
-
Oral examination
A full periodontal exam of your gums, checking for signs of gum disease along the way.
-
X-rays if needed
We take radiographs if additional imaging can benefit you.
-
Your treatment plan
We build a plan from our periodontal services and walk you through it together.
